To book or not to book a tour or tuition session (activity) with Shutterbug Walkabouts?
When it comes to deciding whether or not to booking a tour or tuition session, only you can decide based on how comfortable you are with any of the associated risks of COVID-19. However, we’d like to assure you that Shutterbug Walkabouts is COVID-Ready with COVID-19 Safety Plan that has been carefully considered in relation to our activities.
As has always been, and always will be, the health and safety of our guests remains always at top of mind.
Our COVID-19 Safety Plan outlines precautions that we will take to mitigate the risk of exposure to, or contraction of, COVID-19. Please be aware though, despite all our efforts, a risk of exposure to COVID-19 inherently remains, and we are unable to eliminate this in its entirety.
COVID-19 Code of Conduct
While our procedures have been modified to reduce the risks associated with COVID-19, we recognise that we cannot control anyone’s individual thoughts about the threat of same. You may not be very concerned about contracting the disease, while others may feel particularly cautious – it’s important to retain an understanding for all. Our aim is to create a positive atmosphere and experience not only for you and other members in your group, but also your guide/tutor.
Joining Shutterbug Walkabouts for any activity, you agree to the following:
- To frequently use hand sanitiser and remain aware of general hygiene at all times, especially at times when coughing or sneezing.
- To follow physical distancing guidelines and not feel offended if asked to move further away.
- Work as a team with my group and my guide/tutor to support each person in their efforts of adhering to all safety measures.
Outlined below is a summary of the precautions we are taking to ensure your health and wellbeing while COVID-19 is circulating the world at large. Your health and safety is our top priority to us all the time, so not a great deal has changed in regards to this. However, we are reinforcing what we do and how we do it, for obvious reasons.
If you have any questions or concerns at any stage, we invite you to get in touch with us before booking your experience.
Prepared and trained
In addition to our standard training and certifications, our guides have undergone supplementary COVID-19 Infection Control Training and use best practices in the aim to mitigate the associated risks with the virus while supporting the government’s efforts with contact tracing should the need arise.
Please arrive healthy
Your health is a priority to us, as is the health of our supplier partners and anyone else with whom we come into contact with, and of course ourselves too. In the days leading up to your booked activity, we will ask the following questions:
- Have you returned to from overseas in the last 14 days? Yes No
- Have you come into close contact with anyone who has returned to Tasmania within the last 14 days?
- Have you experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days? Symptoms may include but are not limited to fever, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, body aches.
- Are you in close contact with or caring for someone who is currently unwell, or has been unwell, with cold or flu-like symptoms?
Please reconsider your attendance if you answer yes to any of the above
If on the day, you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, we reserve the right to ask you not to attend and reschedule your booking to a date 14+ days later (no additional cost). In the event that circumstances do not allow you to reschedule to another date, there are alternative options available, including a voucher for future use or cancellation – just get in touch with us to discuss.
Shutterbug Walkabouts is committed to maintaining recommended distances during all aspects of our activities as practicable. Additional precautions will be initiated where such distances are not practicable.
All of our experiences are privately guided for 1 to 6 participants; all of whom know each other. The activity involves interaction only between you and whomever is in your private group and your guide/tutor. You may however, cross paths with the general public or staff in some circumstances so at these times, heightened awareness will be required.
Your guide/tutor will carry hand sanitiser at all times, making it available to you throughout your tour or tuition activity. We encourage you to bring your own hand sanitiser too. Anti-bacterial wipes and/or disinfectant spray will also be provided for equipment, such as tripods, along with optic-friendly wipes for cameras and lenses.
The Australian Government Departure of Health does not recommend routine use of face masks in the community. Therefore we do not require you to wear a face mask. However, on occasions, if you wish you may like to use a cloth mask in the form of a neck gaiter or fabric scarf when you feel the need to do so. Please remember though, if you have any cold/flu symptoms of any kind, we ask that you reschedule your booking.
While hand sanitiser will be frequently used, your guide/tutor will also use a stylus pen when necessary to point or indicate to buttons and menu settings on your camera. This is to minimise physical contact with your camera.
Additional precautions have been implemented to further clean and disinfect all surfaces of the various equipment we use, including but not limited to cameras, tripods, door handles on our vehicle and picnic tables/seating that we may utilise. In our kit, we have surplus hand-sanitiser, anti-bacterial wipes, disinfectant spray and cloths – giving us a choice of method according to the needs at the time.
Snacks, meals and preparation (Outdoor picnics)
This is an aspect that we never compromise on. Food safety is paramount, and we always maintain our superior standards in relation to the snacks provided and/or serving lunch outdoor picnics. Rather than providing any shared platters, each participant will be catered for with individually wrapped/packaged snacks and meals.
Hand sanitiser and disposable food-safe gloves will be used at all times when handling food or picnic equipment.
Photo shoot locations
Accessing areas or locations for photo shoots will be based on the number in your group along with access and logistical considerations that we need to take into mind. If physical distancing is not easily implemented for what is intended, we will discuss alternative activities with you to ensure we retain the superior quality of the overall experience for you.
In order to best protect your health, we prefer that you self-drive to the activity meeting point. Where travel in our vehicle (a 7-seater SUV) is part of the experience or is necessary, we will ask you to travel in the back seat to allow for all available physical distancing whilst inside the vehicle.
Vehicle specific measures
- Dual-zone climate control with separate controls for front and back.
- Weather shields on each window allows for circulation of fresh air while travelling as/when desired.
- Our vehicle is immaculately cleaned and sanitised for each and every tour or tuition activity. This is done on a daily basis or more frequently as circumstances may require.
- Hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes will be available for the driver and passengers at all times.
We believe we’ve thought of almost everything… but there’s just one more consideration. We want you to feel comfortable discussing how you may like us to adapt the delivery of interactive photography instruction for you. Rest assured that we will not feel offended by any request that ensures your health and wellbeing at any time, especially during this time that we are all navigating our way through COVID-19, or anytime really.
